My first LOTV

The roses are really lilac and not the pinky shade they look in the photo - my camera skills not at their best yet again.

As promised, here is my first LOTV (I'm sure it won't be my last). I bought her at the NEC a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know which one to choose as there are so many gorgeous stamps, but I thought this would be a nice one for Mother's Day.

I coloured the image with Faber Castell pencils (dusted off as I haven't used them since being bitten by the Prisma and then Promarker bug).  I thought this image would look nice in watercolours, but I think I will go for Promarkers next time.

The papers are Pink Petticoat, again I thought they were pretty enough for my mom.

I also used Nesties labels two, some Anita's Grosgrain ribbon and computer generated sentiment. The roses are from Hobbycraft and are a matching shade of lilac, but for some reason look pinkish in the photo. The leaves were cut out on my Silhouette.

Mom really loved her card and told me that she'd been disappointed at Christmas to receive a shop bought card (I ran out of time - shameful I know I should have done Mom's first, but I wanted to do her something special, but couldn't get the inspiration and then panicked that I wouldn't get it to her on time).  It's so nice to have your cards appreciated - I have read on some forums of people receiving comments like 'don't be so tight, why don't you buy a card instead of making them'. If only they realised how much more it costs to buy all our craft stuff not to mention the time and effort we put into all our creations.

Forever Friends

Hi folks, sorry I haven't been around much lately, we just seem to be so busy at the moment, there have been so many birthday celebrations and a wedding to go to it's been a bit of a whirlwind. I'm looking forward to a few peaceful weekends after this one. I'll be round to visit you all then.

I've got a couple of cards to show you, and as you can see these little bears are a favourite of mine. I thinks I will get my money's worth out of these.

For this one I used:

Forever Friends stamp
DCWV Textured card which was run through a Cuttlebug folder and then sanded to reveal the white underneath.
Faber Castell pencils to colour the FF image
Nesties
Martha Steward punch
Ribbon from stash
Crystal Hearts from Papermania

And for this one:

Forever Friends stamp, Pink Petticoat papers, Sentiment done on the 'puter, SU border punch, Prisma pencils.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.X

Mom

Hiyall, hope you all had a fab weekend and enjoyed the wonderful weather we had.

I'm really organised with my mom's birthday card this year, it's not till 02 July, but I don't know about you I usually leave family cards till the last minute and end up in a complete flap.

I was looking to do something a bit different (she's not much into cutie cards), so looking for a bit of inspiration, did a bit of blog hopping and came across this card on Katarina's blog. Her cards are lovely and it's well worth visiting her blog. This is my version and this is what I used:

Anna Griffin papers
Anna Griffin Flower Basket stamp
Anna Griffin Alphabet stamps for the sentiment
Anna Griffin Ribbon
Faber Castell pencils
Nesties
Martha Stewart punch

I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, especially as I've had the Anna Griffin papers and stamps for ages and didn't know what to do with them. I think mom will like it (hope so anyway).x

Have a Happy Day

Ooops, has it really been that long since my last post! I've been back from my hols for over a week and I'd just like to say thanks to you all for wishing me a happy hol, had a brill time, lovely villa with it's own pool, feeling nice and chilled now.
I've been busy gardening since we got back, hence no blogging (well we have to make the most of the good weather when we have it, don't we? Unfortunately it looks like we're back to the same old British weather, didn't think it would last).

Anyhow, back to business, I've been wanting to have a go at making a card using nesties after seeing some fab ones on my blogging travels, so here it is, it was so easy and this is what I used:

Large Scallop Circle
Large Circle
Forever Friends stamp
EK Success Daisy punches
Faber Castell Pencils
Clare Curd Sentiment
DCWV textured pink card and deep pink cardstock
Ribbon and Pearl beads from stash
I really liked doing this one and I'm sure I'll do more as I think the nestie size and shape make such cute little cards.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday, can't wait till tonight to see the Apprentice final, Wednesday evenings won't be the same without my fav programme.

In my thoughts

Just a little card I made using one of my Elybells stamp, they're so sweet and simple. I think she looks suitably ill with her flushed cheeks, lol.

I'm hoping I don't have to send it to anyone though, but it's one to keep in my box just in case.

Rubber Romance

What a perfect day for playing with my new Rubber Romance stamp. Cold, wet and windy outside, I can't believe it's August. It feels more like November, I almost wanted to put the heating on.

I stamped the image on watercolour card and coloured with Faber Castell pencils. I used katharina's sketch from this week's papertakeweekly challenge. The papers are downloaded from http://digitalfreebies.com/. The sentiment is a stamp I've had for a few years, it's from a company called 'Innie & Outie.

Sorry if the picture is a bit dark, I can't find a bright spot to take photo's on a dark, gloomy day in our old cottage.

Oops, also forgot to say these stamps are huge, you certainly get your money's worth with them.

Elzybells

Finally got my elzybells stamps. I've been waiting to get some for ages, and have been waiting patiently for the UK site to open. I love the simplicity of these designs, they really don't need overdoing with embellishments (in my opinion that is). I coloured the image using Faber Castell watercolour pencils and cut the shape with Nestabilities oval die. The background paper is Big Dots by pinkpetticoat. The sentiment was stamped using some HOTP stamps I had from a QVC TSV and the ribbon is from poppicrafts.

Happy Bird-day

At last I've found somewhere in the U.K. that stock Pink Cat Studio Stamps. They're made in Canada and I was about to order direct from Pink Cat Studios when I discovered http://diestodiefor.com/. Luckily, they had two of the sets I was after in stock, Cat Plate 1 and Tweety.

I placed my order yesterday at 17.33 and guess what, they arrived today! I was amazed. What service, definitely recommended. Thank you to Tracy.

Of course I had to have a play straight away, and this is the first attempt.

The background paper is from DCWV Neutrals stack, and DCWV patterned papers. The image has been coloured with Faber Castell watercolour pencils and Nestabilities die cut. I have added some brads for interest. The sentiment is one of the stamps from the set.

Cutecardthursday
This is my entry for this week's cutecardthursday challenge. The challenge is to use ribbon, brads and buttons on your card, and there is a fab prize for the winner from tracyjanescrafts.

I got this fab new 'Ellie' stamp from stamposaurus this week. I've stamped and watercoloured with Faber Castell pencils then cut it out with oval nestabilities die. I then mounted it onto a scalloped oval die cut.

The background paper is from Bazzill basics. I have attached some stripped organza ribbon and attached a button. The sentiment is by Studio G, which I stamped with a Versamark pad and chalked. Just to finish the challenge I added a couple of eyelets (hope this passes as brads).
