With Love

Afternoon peeps, hope you're having a great weekend, or what's left of it.  It's back to work for me tomorrow and my new working hours - only 15 hours over three days.  Great, more crafting time you may think, which is very true, although less hours means less money to spend on crafting goodies.  A bit of a doubled edged sword, me thinks.

Anyhow, I've not been doing much crafting this week cause hubby has had the week off and we've had to do things 'togeva'.  But today I'm in luck, he's been off to watch the footie giving me a chance to get this card done.

I used my Silhouette to cut out the tag and embossed it with silver embossing powder to give a metal effect.  The flower was also cut out on the Silhouette - it's a print and cut design, a very clever option which enables you to print out your chosen item and then feed it into the Silhouette to cut out. I love it.

The sentiment is from Anna Griffin.  The stem of the flower is a swirl design from a Do-crafts set of stamps.  The diamond grid effect on the red card was done on my Scor Pal and the edge was punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.  A couple of little embellishments from my stash - a red button and some brads to finish the card.

I thinks that's it for today - looking forward to Sunday dinner (hubby's cooking - always goes down well when someone cooks for you I find) and Downton Abbey on the telly.  Bye for now and have a good week.x

FTL113 Clean and Simple Challenge

This week's cleanandsimple challenge is this great sketch:

The Poinsettia stamp I've used on my card is one that I've had for years; it was from a QVC set that came with a wooden storage cabinet with about 32 stamps in it - and I've hardly used any of them.

The three squares are 1.25" so I needed a stamp that would fit nicely into them and this one was perfect.  Glad I finally found a use for it.

The sentiment stamp is from a set of HOTP stamps.

A very quick and easy card.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge - 'What's buggin you?'

Hi folks, hope you're having a great weekend and enjoying the gorgeous autumn sunshine.  I've not had much time to get in my craft room lately, hence a long time since my last post.  I've a couple of birthday's coming up this month, but haven't yet decided on the cards I'm going to make , so I decided to have a go at this week's cutecardthursdaychallenge 'What's buggin you'.

I've had this butterfly and border, which was cut out using my Silhouette machine, for some time so wanted to use them on my card.  I've also been wanting to try some Kraft card too.

I just added the stitching and a bit of Tea Dye Distress ink to give a bit of a natural feel and used a Stampin Up stamp for the sentiment.

I've been  umming and aaahring over the butterfly, not quite sure if I like it. Oh well, too late now.x
