Cute Card Thursday - Create a Scene

Evening all! Hope your well! Hubby's gone to the pub so I'm up late tonight, I wanted to get this card finished before I go off to the land of zzzz's (hoping I get some zzz's tonight that is, I'm sure there'll be a fair bit of snoring going on, no not from me, from OH, after his few pints).

What a great challenge this week from Cute Card Thursday team. The theme is 'Create a Scene' and as you may know from previous posts, I like this kinda thing.

I've done a fair bit of masking on this card and also used my brayer to do the background and also a bit of stitching (something else I'm like doing).
Here's what I used:

Magnolia Tilda and Bench Stamps
Habic Oriental Stamps from QVC (the leaves and grass)HOTP Sentiment Stamp
Brayer (Adirondack Inks for the sun, grass and sky)
Anna Griffin Papers
Papermania Brads
SU Border Punch

I coloured the image with Whispers Brush Pens.

That's it I think. Thanks for looking. Night, night.

Reflective

Hi, hope you've had a good weekend and the weather hasn't been too horrendous for you. I have to say, here in Solihull it has been bright and sunny during the day and extremely windy with torrential rain at night, which I don't mind. I quite like being tucked up in my nice warm bed listening to the wind and rain outside.
As my OH and daughter were out on Friday night I had chance to get into my little craft area and play with the second of my lovely Elisabeth Bell stamps, which are available from http://www.funkykits.co.uk/catalog/. This one, which you may have gathered is called 'Reflective'. Isn't she lovely!!!

The layout I've used is from last week's Sketch Saturday's challenge. Unfortunately, I was too late to enter, but I liked the layout so much that I decided to use it anyway.
The papers are some gorgeous K&Co papers I had from QVC ages ago. I've added a couple of Papemania flowers and brads. The sentiment stamp is from HOTP. I coloured the image in with Faber Castell watercolour pencils. Hope you like it!

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.x

Dawnys Sketch #6

Hi all, just starting to get a bit enthusiasm back for making cards. I don't know about you, but I think the Christmas cards took their toll and turned me right off. I really haven't had much interest in doing any cards lately, I've just been sitting with my laptop just looking at everyone else's.

Anyway, I had a look to see what the challenge blogs had set up for this week and found one that I liked the look of. This week's PTW Challenge is another great sketch from Dawny P. If you haven't taken part before, go have a look, it's great fun and the sketches really do help with inspiration.

I got this adorable new sugarnellie Daisy stamp just before Christmas, I've been wanting some of Elisabeth Bell's stamps for ages, so yippee, I now have four to play with.

This is what I used:

Sugar Nellie Daisy Stamp
Papers - K & Co
Corner Stamp - Imagina
Sentiment Stamp - HOTP
Martha Stewart - Doily Edge punch
I dusted off my Primas to colour her in. She was so lovely to do.
Ok that's it, I'm off now to have a look at the other entries. Bye for now. Take care.x

Five Minutes of Fame

OMG, my five minutes of fame. I was asked by Clare Curd from Do-Crafts to make some cards entirely of Do-Craft products for her 'On-Line Talent Spot' section of this month's Do-Craft Creativity Magazine, and, here they are. I'm so chuffed. Thank you Clare for asking me, it was great fun.

Papertake Weekly Challenge 'Seeing Spots'

I managed to find time to get a card done today for the return of the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is entitled 'Seeing Spots'.

I know this Tilda is a bit of a 'has been', but I still think she's very cute and worthy of an outing. The background paper is PP and I've used Nesties to mat her onto. The sentiment stamp is by Studio G and the flowers are from Poppicraft.
I have added a punched flower to the centre of each flower and secured with some lovely sugar coated brads from Dovecraft. Oh, the leaves are a Sizzix die, I think that covers the lot.

I think it's a bit pink but will be a suitably girly card for my niece who has a birthday this month. I really like doing this challenge, it was so nice to get away from Christmas cards. Thanks for dropping in!

An Award

I have been given this fab award by Sally, Sonia and Gina. Thank you ladies, I really appreciate you thinking of me.

The rules are to give it to five others, who shall give it to five others.. You shall link the one you got it from, and also the ones you give it to:) And let them know. And there is more... You have to write down five things you are addicted to.

1. Needless to say, my crafting goodies, love them all and couldn't part with any of it, even the things I haven't used for ages, just in case I may want to use them sometime.

2. Slippers (can't live without them).

3. Food - any kind, just love it, I live to eat and can't understand anyone that doesn't.

4. Blog hopping - I just love to see what other people create.

5. Emmerdale, my favourite soap. I hate to miss an episode. It's that time of day when dinner is finished and I can sit down with a nice cuppa and chill out.

I'd like to pass it to: Debbie, Julie, Gill, Tara, and Sarita

Candy Alert

I've just been doing a bit of hopping when I came across some fantastic Blog Candy. You really must check it out. http://www.papercraftsbyrach.blogspot.com/ is a fabulous blog with the most wonderful creations from Rach, well worth a visit, especially if you want a chance to win the scrumptious goodies she's offering, so quick, off you go! You have until the 10th January.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year. I hope you had a lovely Christmas with all the goodies that you wanted.

I was very spoilt on Christmas morning. I was when I opened my pressies to find that my lovely husband had bought me a laptop. I have been spending so much time upstairs in a room that I have made into a craft room, which also has the computer installed, that he has been feeling a bit lonely watching TV alone each night. I can now sit and blog hop all evening whilst watching TV. How great is that!!

I have also treated myself to a bind it all machine with some Christmas money I got from my mom. I have wanted one for ages but they were a bit expensive to justify. When I spotted QVC selling them on three easy payments during Craft Day I just had to have one. I know the new updated pink version is about to come to the UK but it will be a bit out of my price range when it has to be purchased in one payment so I'm quite happy with the old blue one. It came with some wire cutters, two sets of 6x6 chipboard covers and papers and two sets of 7 x 5 covers and paper plus a set of wires. Great value I think. I can't wait to play with it!

I'd like to thank all of you that have visited over 2008 and especially when you have left a comment, it's very much appreciated. I know I have an award waiting for me to upload. I will try to get round to that as soon as possible and thank you to those who passed it to me. Again, I really appreciate it.

Anyway, have a fab 2009 and keep on crafting! X
