Nearly there!
Into the home stretch now for this year's Christmas cards. These two are for my nieces. The stamp is an Elzybells (no longer available, sadly), coloured with Promarkers. The background paper is a digi download and I used a Hero Arts stamps set to do the names.
The snowflakes were cut out using my Silhouette and then covered with Twinklets.
Only my husband's and daughters' cards to do now - cutting it a bit fine as usual!
Edit: Ha ha! Just noticed I didn't colour in the little Robin's body - hope my nieces don't notice!

Let it snow.........
Every time I go to the NEC and see Barbara Grey demonstrating, I'm so in awe that I really feel the need to drag my brayer out. I've tried and tried to master the art of brayering, but I've never really managed it and the box of lovely shiney postcards that I bought along with the brayer is slowly emptying with most of them ending up in the bin.
But, I've given it another go and I'm actually quite pleased with the result. I don't know what I did differently this time and I'm sure I won't be able to do it again, but this is what I used and how I did it:
I tore a piece of copy paper to form snowdrifts and put a 2p sized circle at the top of my card where the moon was going to be. I placed the copy paper at the bottom of the card and inked up my brayer with Adirondack Winter Sky. I used a Clarity stamp to put the clouds in place in front of the moon. I then stamped the trees in place. The stamp is called 'A grove of trees' and it's by Art Impressions. I added a bit of glitter to the trees but I don't think this shows up on the photo. To give the impression of snow peaks I used my torn piece of copy paper and a make up sponge. The sentiment stamp is from Elzybells. I mounted the picture onto some dark blue card and then onto a 6 x 6 white card blank.
Well, that's it - nothing like the cards Barbara makes, but I did enjoy making it. I'm sure the brayer'll now go back into the drawer now until Barbara's next show on C&C or the NEC in March.
Bye for now.x

And while I'm at it, here's another card I did over the weekend (and all because I had no internet to distract me).
I haven't done a cute card for ages, but I do still love my Elzybells stamps - this one I didn't get round to using last year.
It was nice to do a different shape for a change from my usual square cards.
I used my Prismas to colour the image and matted onto some reddish, purpleish (not sure what colour it is) card. I used a corner punch at the bottom of the card and slotted the picture into it. I then matted onto white card. The sentiment is from Inca stamps. Another simple layout - the colouring took the time, but I do enjoy using the Prismas, quite therapeutic really.
I'm going to try to do some blog hopping whilst watching 'I'm a celebrity' tonight. 'Bout time I had a bit of a nosey. Have a good evening. x

Elzybells Eskimo
I hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys the lovely sunshine that's expected today. I'm off into the garden now to do a bit of weeding.

Kerry's Blog Candy
Unfortunately, I've had a busy week and wasn't able to get my entry in on time, so I just want to say congratulations to Kerry for her wonderful achievement and carry on making fabulous cards. Also, many congratulatons to Sue (aka Auntysue on docrafts) for her winning card, it is a very worthy winner.
For those who haven't yet visited Kerry's blog, please go take a look, it's well worth it.

A Stitch in time....
This week's Papertake Weekly Challenge is to create a card using faux or real stitching. I have seen this technique used on loads of cards and really liked it, so decided to get my sewing maching out and give it a go using real stitching.
I've used another of the lovely Elzybells stamps for the main image and coloured it in with Marvy Le Plume pens and then layered it onto some lilac card stock. I stuck everything down before attempting to stitch it, and I have to say it is much easier than I thought it would be. I am quite happy with the result.
The background paper is Pink Petticoat with a Studio G sentiment and a couple of crystals to finish.

In my thoughts
I'm hoping I don't have to send it to anyone though, but it's one to keep in my box just in case.

Another 'Elzybells'

Elzybells
Finally got my elzybells stamps. I've been waiting to get some for ages, and have been waiting patiently for the UK site to open. I love the simplicity of these designs, they really don't need overdoing with embellishments (in my opinion that is). I coloured the image using Faber Castell watercolour pencils and cut the shape with Nestabilities oval die. The background paper is Big Dots by pinkpetticoat. The sentiment was stamped using some HOTP stamps I had from a QVC TSV and the ribbon is from poppicrafts.
