Phew, what a week....

it's been.  March is a really busy month for me. My husband, daughter, niece, sister, brother in law, work colleague and friend's son all have birthday's within a few days/weeks of each other, and to top it all it was my daughter's 21st last weekend so I had to get a scrapbook done as well as cards for them all.

I've been pretty busy shopping for pressies, going out with the family to celebrate my daughter and niece's joint 21st and then spending this last weekend in London, so haven't had not much time for blogging. Although I did manage to squeeze in the Hobbycraft show at the NEC last Thursday (I bought a few goodies, but would have liked to have spent a whole load more - you know how it is!).  I'm hoping for a less hectic week next week.

Right, on to the card.  As I didn't get chance to photograph my daughter's card before she popped off back to uni, I have my brother in law's card to show you.

It's a familiar character, I used him for a card a few posts ago, it's Alf with beer from the Digistamp Boutique, I think he's suitable for many male cards (or maybe it's just the ones I know. lol).

The papers are DCWV again.  I bought a whole pile of these from QVC ages ago when it was on offer at a great price, but they've just been sitting in my stash until recently. The sentiment was done on the computer using Accord SF font (thanks to Kerry - http://aloadofoldpickle.blogspot.com/ for the link to this one) and Alf has been coloured with Promarkers.

I'm hoping to get my Mother's day card done in the next couple of days and then get round to visiting some blogs to see what everyone has been up to, until then, enjoy the rest of the week!

Card made using my Digistamp Boutique prize

Here's my first card made with one of the digistampboutique images I won from the Charisma cardz challenge.

I've used Alf with beer - he's been coloured with Promarkers.
The background paper is DCWV that I've had in my stash for yonks.
The sentiment was done on the computer (Bookworm font) and punched out with Stampin Up word window punch.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sorry for the quick post - not enough hours in the day.

Forever Friends

Hi folks, sorry I haven't been around much lately, we just seem to be so busy at the moment, there have been so many birthday celebrations and a wedding to go to it's been a bit of a whirlwind. I'm looking forward to a few peaceful weekends after this one. I'll be round to visit you all then.

I've got a couple of cards to show you, and as you can see these little bears are a favourite of mine. I thinks I will get my money's worth out of these.

For this one I used:

Forever Friends stamp
DCWV Textured card which was run through a Cuttlebug folder and then sanded to reveal the white underneath.
Faber Castell pencils to colour the FF image
Nesties
Martha Steward punch
Ribbon from stash
Crystal Hearts from Papermania

And for this one:

Forever Friends stamp, Pink Petticoat papers, Sentiment done on the 'puter, SU border punch, Prisma pencils.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.X

Have a Happy Day

Ooops, has it really been that long since my last post! I've been back from my hols for over a week and I'd just like to say thanks to you all for wishing me a happy hol, had a brill time, lovely villa with it's own pool, feeling nice and chilled now.
I've been busy gardening since we got back, hence no blogging (well we have to make the most of the good weather when we have it, don't we? Unfortunately it looks like we're back to the same old British weather, didn't think it would last).

Anyhow, back to business, I've been wanting to have a go at making a card using nesties after seeing some fab ones on my blogging travels, so here it is, it was so easy and this is what I used:

Large Scallop Circle
Large Circle
Forever Friends stamp
EK Success Daisy punches
Faber Castell Pencils
Clare Curd Sentiment
DCWV textured pink card and deep pink cardstock
Ribbon and Pearl beads from stash
I really liked doing this one and I'm sure I'll do more as I think the nestie size and shape make such cute little cards.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday, can't wait till tonight to see the Apprentice final, Wednesday evenings won't be the same without my fav programme.

Colour Create - Brown and Blue

Hi folks, just a quick post as I'm dashing out to visit my mom. She'll have my dinner ready and waiting for me, yum, can't wait. Isn't it nice when someone else cooks for you! Anyway, I'm glad to have been able to get chance to make a card for the Colour Create Challenge, I've missed the last few weeks.

The lovely colour combination for this challenge is blue and brown with the option of adding pearls and lace. Sorry girls, I haven't got any lace, but I think I've made up for it with the pearls.lol.

This is the recipe:

Cardstock: SU
Paper: DCWV
Flowers: Prima
Stamped Image: Rubber Romance (Melanie)
Sentiment (quote): from my K&Co embellishments box
Woodware corner punch
Pearls and ribbon from stash
Whispers brush markers

I cut the oval using a template and just added some doodling around the edge. Hope you like the sentiment, I thought it was very apt!

Bye now and thanks for stopping by, I'm off for my yummy dinner! X

Cute Card Thursday

I think I'm on a bit of a roll this week, two cards in two days. This week's Cute Card Thursday Challenge is to make a card featuring cats and dogs. Once again, the Design Team has done some great samples for inspiration if your stuck for ideas. The lucky winner of this challenge gets two fab downloads which have been donated by Debbie Moore who designs for Spiral Whisper.

I used Cat Plate 1 from http://www.pinkcatstudio.com/, and coloured the image using Prismas. The background papers are DCWV and the flower is a Flora Doodle, which can be bought from http://www.joannasheen.com/.
