Sweet Cupcakes

My daughter (who's 20) asked me to make a card for her friend.  I asked her what sort of thing she wanted, and she said anything to do with food or shoes and handbags.  So, I had a look through what I had available and started to make her a card featuring Bentley bear eating cake - "What do you think?" I asked.  "A bit babyish", was the response. I after thinking about it, I think she's right - alot of my cards feature cutesy images which are probably best suited to the younger members of my family.

So, back to the drawing board and this is what I made instead.  I have to admit to complete plagerism with this card - I came across a card here on the Splitcoaststampers site and just loved it.  The lady who made it is called Marie Shaughnessy and her blog is here.

The stamps are a great set from Stamping Up called 'Crazy for Cupcakes'. I've featured a card using this particular stamp before, I really love it and they are brillant to work with.  I coloured the cakes with a Sakura glitter gel pen. I don't think you can pick up the sparkle from the picture.

I cut the window frame with a small nesties square die.  The papers are from a download, I think.  I used my Stamping Up scalloped border punch for the canopy and the message stamp is again from the 'Crazy for Cupcakes' set and punched with Stamping Up oval punch.

My daughter loved it. Hope you like it too.x

I adore this card! Such a great design and I love the colours you used too.

I love Splitcoast Stampers (I'm ApricotRose on there) and have learnt tons of things on the site and been so inspired by the work that's on show.
