Less is More
Hi folks, a quick post today, busy, busy, busy.
Thanks you Kerry, once again, for the link to this Bentley Bear free digi download. He is soooo cute. To find out how to get him for yourself, visit Kerry's blog -

I used my Papermania papers from the Sunshine kit again and added a border strip cut out on my Silhouette. Bentley Bear has been coloured in with Prismas (I think I should have stuck to orange icing instead of the pink, but too late now!) with a bit of faux stitching added here and there. The little buttons are also from the goody bag. The flower was from my stash.
Hope you've had a good week so far - nearly the weekend - yeah!

Friday Sketchers # 90
Melbicks Garden Centre has a 20% off sale this weekend, so I treated myself to the Do-Craft Papermania Goody Bag. What a bargain! For £11.99 (it would have been £14.99) I got loads of gorgeous stuff. Beautiful 'Sunshine Paper Pack', ribbons, 2 packs of tiny buttons, flowers, brads, fasteners, ribbons, gems, a Daisy & Dandelion stamp, etc.
When I got home I had to do something with it straight away, so had a look at some of the challenge blogs to see if anything caught my eye. This is what I found:
A lovely simple sketch from http://fridaysketchersblog.blogspot.com/. And this is my entry. All made with my new goodies. This is my first Daisy & Dandelion stamp, and I must say that I didn't find it the most enjoyable to colour. I used Prisma pencils and Sansodor. When I got home I had to do something with it straight away, so had a look at some of the challenge blogs to see if anything caught my eye. This is what I found:
I added a bit of faux stitching around the outside. I usually use a black pen for this, but for a change I used a white pen - I quite like the effect.
One other thing I want so show you - I'm quite chuffed with myself for this. I was having a play with my Silhouette and used the 'Print and Cut' and welding features for the first time.
From my library I took the candle numbers 1 and 8 and welded them together and re-sized to fit a A4 piece of card. I then sent it to print and then put it into the Silhouette to cut. I cut another piece of card the same shape for the back of the card without cutting the centres out. Magic! I love it. Here it is:And here I've just added a bit of silver glitter pen around the stars and a gold wick.

Black & White - Loving Birthday Wishes
I've just dug out some Anna Griffin stamps that I've had stashed away for ages and I've done something different from my norm.
I took inspiration from Sarita for this card, she is so talented and produces such beautiful projects (you can find her blog here: http://littleprincesscards.blogspot.com/)
I stamped all over the bottom of the card with this beautiful swirl stamp from the Anna Griffin clear stamp set, and then I punched some black card with my Martha Stewart punch to form the border. I added this lovely satin ribbon I got from Hobby Craft just before Xmas.
You can find out how to make the flower here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/fanfoldflower/.
This is my lovely box of Anna Griffin goodies and the wooden background stamps I've had stashed away.

Cupcake Craft Challenge 78 - Keep it Simple
Hi folks, hope you're having a good week. It's flying by a bit to quickly for me. This week is half term and I have the week off work, so I want it to go slowly! I'm really enjoying spending time in my little craft space.
I've made this card to enter into the cupcakecraftchallenge. The theme for this challenge is 'Keep it Simple'. No going over the top with flowers and embellishments. Tough one, hey! Not really for me as I really do like C&S look, so I think this one is up my street.
Here's what I used:
Sugar Nellie stamp
Prisma Pencils & Sansodor
K&Co background paper
Crafwork Cards Candy
Top Note style frame, and border both cut out on my Silhouette and coloured with Tea Dye distress ink.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the week and the weather is being kind to you - we have been threatend with another dumping of snow tomorrow here in the Midlands! Yuk.

Silhouette Fancy Frame
Quickutz Silhouette have just had another 99 cent sale on all their downloads, so I took the opportunity of adding loads more to my gallery. This is one that I purchased. A beautiful Victorian frame. I was a bit unsure how it would cut, being so intricate, but as you can see it worked a treat. Here's a close up for you to see:
I used some textured white card to layer the frame onto, which was also inked with Weathered Wood and distressed with a Tim Holtz distressing tool.
The gorgeous image is a digi download, but for the life of me I can't remember where from. I had a bit of trouble with the ink bleeding with this one (so I've ordered some Ghiant fixative to try to stop this from happening, I've heard that this does the trick). I used my Faber Castell pencils to colour the couple in.
The dotty background paper is from K&Co and I added a few pearl beads and ribbon to finish.
Have a good weekend everyone! x

Truly Scrumptious - Challenge 25
I saw this sketch on the trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot and decided to give it a go. It's a lovely simple sketch with the added challenge of buttons and bows. It didn't take long to put together. I like that kinda card.
The papers are from a QVC TSV and are from HoTP. The image is a 99 cent digi download from http://www.squigglefly.com/shop/. Thanks to Kerry for the link to this one. He's such a cutie.
The baby sentiment is a Sizzlit die, as is the button. I used a scalloped and circle nestie. The image has been coloured with Prismas and the ribbon is a bit of grosgrain from my stash, I don't know why but when I photograph this kind of ribbon it always looks a bit weird!
Hope you're all having a good week, it's nearly the weekend, hoorah!x

'Love You'
I made this card intending to enter it into the Allsorts challenge 'Hearts and Flowers', but spot the error - no flowers (must read things properly in future). I only realised when I went to upload it, and then I realised I was too late, it should have been entered by Friday! Silly me!
The cute little image is from the digistampboutique and coloured in with Prismas. The background paper is PP. The sentiment is by Clare Curd and the rest is from stash.
