Rambling Rose

Morning folks, sorry I have been MIA lately. As I've mentioned before, I share the desk where I do all my crafting with my daughter, who is studying for a law degree at the moment. As she has exams coming up in a few weeks, her need to use the desk as often as she wants (which seems to be all day and night lately - poor thing) is greater than mine.

As she's gone off to the uni library this morning I've taken the opportunity to jump on the desk (not literally you understand) to upload this card.

I found this gorgeous rambling rose template here , it's one of Lauren Meader's cut files. I downloaded it in GSD format and cut it out on my Silhouette. A tutorial on how to make the rose can be found here. It's so simple to do and, I think, very effective. The leaves are made with the five petal Stampin Up punch.
The embossed background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the swirl was made using a downloaded template for use with the Silhouette Rhinestone kit. I just used some crystals I had in my stash to make up the swirl. The ribbon is from Hobbycraft and I made the bow with my Bow-Easy (such a cool little gadget). And that's about it.
Sorry the photo's are still a bit dark. I'm not sure if it's my photographic skills or if my camera is on the blink (probably the first option).

Right, I'm off to seem if I can get a bit more crafting done before the return of the offspring.

Have a good day.x
