Gosh

I can't believe it's been well over a year since my last post. I have suffered really badly from anxiety over this last year and a bit and I lost interest in crafting.  I think I'm over it now and am starting to get a bit more enthusiastic about making cards and crafting again.

I'm glad to see my favourite challenge blog Less is More is still going strong and I've have made a couple of cards to enter into this week's challenge.

This week is a celebration as it's Chrissie's 70th birthday - happy birthday Chrissie, I hope you have a wonderful time.

The challenge is all about 'Snippets' - so here's my efforts:

My first card has used a snippet of ribbon I found in my ribbon/string bag of bits.
The image is from Miss Katie Cuttables

My next card is made using bits of card and I have used alphabet dies from Mollymoo,  stamps from Card-io and birthday die from Rob Adams:

Well I did enjoy making these - I'd forgotten how craft has the ability to absorb you into a little world of your own and take your mind off your woes.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope to be a regular again.

Mr Fantashtic

A card for the guys!  Most of us struggle with those I think, but I found an Indigo blu set called Mr Fantashtic on sale on the Clare Curd website - a real bargain so I treated myself to them.

Here's my recipe:

Indigo blu Mr Fantashtic stamps
Clock stamp was a Do Craft freebie with a magazine
Background mask - That Special Touch
Hobby Art sentiment stamp
A foam stamp I've had in my stash for ages from QVC - don't know who made them
Dimensional gloss for the monocle
Domed resin sticker for the front of the clock
Vintage photo Distress Ink

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenge:

Less Is More sketch - Take 2

Ooooh! I like this sketch so much I made another:

I used the Print and Cut option on my Cameo to colour the heart border.  The sentiment is from Paula Pascual and a few Hotfix crystals.

Thanks for visiting.

Less is More Challenge - Use Designer Paper in a CAS Way

This week's theme for the lessismore challenge is to use designer paper in a CAS way.  A great challenge as always from Chrissie and Jen and it gave me the opportunity to use my new Fairy Lights papers from Pink Petticoat, which is currently on offer at half price from the boutique (a bargain as it's stuffed full of papers, christmas tree images and sentiment).

Here's my card:

While I'm here I thought I would just add this card I made using the Sizzix Flip-It die I bought at the NEC.  It was such a bargain - £16.99 for 11 dies in the set.  I used some HOTP paper and some other dies to try a Vintage style - a look I really love but I'm not very good at.  I used several different stamps including Kaisercraft Music sheet, HOTP holly and Paula Pascual number:

I'm sure I'll get lots of use out of this set and may even invest in other shapes. I'm sure they'll be just as good with a CAS look.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Less is More - Thanks

I think I may be entering an arty phase, lol.  I bought myself a Gelliplate from Barbara Gray at the Hobbycraft show on Friday and I can't wait to have a go with it.  In the meantime I dug out my Adirondacks and Inkylicious brushes to have a go at this week's lessismoore challenge that should be a OLC and should also be a thank you card.

Here's mine:

I cut three squares in a piece of 5 x 7 copy paper and used it as a template to ink through with Adirondack Wild Plum and Butterscotch.

The stamp I used is from Personal Impressions - another one of those stamps I've had in my stash for years and never used.  The sentiment stamp is from Stampin Up which I do use a lot. Quite a quick and simple card to do but I did enjoy making this one.  I hope to be back soon with something I've done with the Gelliplate.  Bye for now.
