Criss Cross Graduation card

Whoo hoo!  We've just found out that our youngest daughter has gained a First Class degree in Law with Business from the University of Birmingham.  We are totally overwhelmed and so very proud of her.  She's worked really hard for this and really does deserve it.

For her card, I decided to make my first Criss Cross card. A bit of a change from my usual 6 x 6 square.

The cute images are digis from Bugaboo.  She reminds me of my little Polly (our nickname for her) when she was a little girl.

I used Promarkers to colour the image and used the computer for the sentiments.

The papers are HoTP Paper Pizazz called Mixing Baby.  The colour of the collar for the Law school at Birmingham is olive green which is why I chose these colours.

I used Labels Two nesties to mat and layer and of course my usual Silhouette contribution is the lattice fence and leaves.

Swirl is a Sizzlet
Tab punch is from Stampin Up.

I'll put some piccies of her in her Mortar Board and gown after the graduation ceremony on the 15th.

I'm going to enter this into this week's
i love promarkers challenge which has a theme of 'Anything Goes'.

Hi Sue,
To answer your question, she didn't want to go on to be a solicitor or anything like that as it would have meant more studying and she said she had done enough.
She eventually got a job with Crown Prosecution Services in Leeds which she really enjoyed but after 2 years she started looking around for something else as she was off to work at 6.30 a.m. and didn't get home till 6.30 p.m. if she was lucky and the chances of promotion at that time were very slim, it was like you had to wait for someone to retire or die to get promoted. She then went to Barclays Mortgage Fraud which was then based near the White Rose but had a free private car park so at least she could go in her car.
She got married in 2001 and 2 years later left Barclays so she could go with her Husband who was an Officer with P&O cruises and was away for 3/4 months at a time and only home for 2 months at a time, they wanted a family and it was a bit difficult for them. She has not worked since - 2 boys 6 and 2 and Dad still away for months at a time so feels she should be there for the boys as Dad isn't always.
Was Uni a waste of time and money?
With CPS she loved working with the police and going to court and looking at evidence so I suppose that was the law side whereas Barclays may be classed as Business, she did find that interesting as well, looking for money laundering and various other things, checking into people. But I don't think Barclays were that good to work for.

Don't think this will have been too much help as it is a bit of a different case withJohn having the career he has.
